The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SICCI) ended the year in style with their official End of Year Cocktail held on Thursday 1st December at Lime Lounge. 70 Chamber members attended a night of complimentary beer, wine and soft drink provided by SolBrew, a tasty selection of finger food catered by Lime Lounge and entertainment by Too Good Boyz.
The night began with a few keynote speakers updating members on their latest activities. Chairman of SICCI Tony Koraua opened the night followed by an address by the proud sponsors for the evening, Tropic Glass & Aluminium (TGA) and SolBrew Limited. Managing Director of TGA, Justin Fuo’o gave some uplifting words on the importance of SICCI and the private sector community as a whole. General Manger of SolBrew Limited Andy Hewson then gave an insightful presentation on his company which demonstrated SolBrew’s innovation and dedication to investing back into the Solomon Islands community; an excellent example for other businesses to follow.
A presentation followed from the Guest Speaker for the night, RAMSI Special Coordinator Nicholas Coppel. Mr. Coppel gave a presentation on the RAMSI Transition and what this really means to the Solomon Islands as well as the general business community. He spoke about what RAMSI had been doing in the Solomon Islands, and expressed his confidence in the Solomon Islands authorities RAMSI has been working with over the years. He went on to provide information on the next phase of RAMSI’s operation; a gradual transition from a RAMSI led model to a sustainable bi-lateral partnership of an ongoing nature.
The night ended with an informal networking and celebration of the end of 2011 as guests enjoyed the entertainment.
