Calvin Ziru
Chief Executive Officer

Calvin is a lawyer by profession and a graduate of the University of the South Pacific, School of Law, Port Vila, Vanuatu. Prior to joining the Chamber of Commerce in October 2009, Calvin had worked as Legal Officer and Committee Secretariat to the Solomon Islands National Parliament Office and before that was Associate Lawyer in a Commercial Law Firm in Suva, Fiji. Calvin’s vision as CEO of the Chamber of Commerce is to raise the profile of the private sector as a key policy development partner to government and to improve the representative capacity of the organisation.

 

Mele O’Brien
Project Officer – Advocacy and Representation

Mele comes from Temotu Province and Tuvalu Islands. She is a recent graduate of the University of the South Pacific, having received a degree in Law and Politics in 2009. Mele joined the Chamber of Commerce in May 2010 as ‘Project Officer - Advocacy and Representation’. Her position is responsible for the articulation of member’s issues, preparing position papers for the Chamber; a position she describes as new and challenging but equally exciting. After working with the Chamber, Mele plans to undertake further studies with particular focus on business law.

 

Barnabas Henson
Project Officer – Membership Services

Barnabas joined the Chamber of Commerce in August 2011 and brings with him a broad range of experience in management, more extensively and recently as a manager within the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands Law & Justice Program. Barnabas is responsible for the development and implementation of membership services programs and initiatives for Chamber members, working closely with the CEO and Board. He is pursuing undergraduate studies in Law majoring in Corporate Law.

Anna Fenua
Administrative Assistant

Anna is from Temotu Province and graduated in 2009 with a Diploma in Business Administration from the Solomon Islands College of Higher Education in Honiara. She joined the Chamber of Commerce in May 2010. As Administrative Assistant, Anna is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Office, working together with the Chief Executive Officer. Anna intends to pursue undergraduate studies in the Business Administration in future.

 

Emma Hedditch
AYAD Volunteer
SICCI Events Manager

Emma comes from Canberra, Australia. She graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Specializing in Event Management through the International College of Management, Sydney in association with Macquarie University. Emma has joined Chamber of Commerce for a one year volunteer placement focused on developing the capacity of the Chamber of Commerce management to plan and host business events. This is Emma’s first job outside Australia and wishes to pursue further studies in International Development in the future.
